Fiji and home!

A great island we went on a day trip to because the beach near our hostel was so rubbish! (See previous photo)

It is great to be home finally! Thank you to everyone that kept an eye on this site and left all those comments! It was great to hear from home so often and made the trip away from you all so much easier for me!

Almost there!

I am writing from Narita airport outside Tokyo. I had a great time in Japan and got lots of fun souveneirs in the last couple of days which meant that I had to go postal on my luggage just to fit it in. Hopefully my bag doesn't explode sending clothes all over the tarmac!

You all have to come here, it's such a fun country!!

Having said that I am really happy to be coming home! I get 2 days on the beach in Fiji before arriving home on Tuesday night Melbourne time!!! See those of you who live in Melbourne soon!!

An interesting contrast between a park started in the 1600's and Tokyo's newest skyscraper district right next to it.


They love Neon here..... this is one area in Ginza, the trendy shopping district where Louis Vutton, D&G, Dior, etc etc are.

I am off to the Sony Building/Musuem in Ginza (like 5th Avenue NYC,
full of really expensive shops) because the weather is rubbish!

This is what you would expect from Japan!

Bikes outside the subway station! Lots of people ride them in Japan.... on the footpath! They ride right at you! The technique is to not look at them otherwise they think you've seen them and will jump out of the way!


Drew went nuts with my camera at these Japanese gardens we went to and took some nice shots.


This bus was used at the Aichi Expo near Drew's house. It doesn't require a driver, it finds it's way from some sort of discs that are placed on the road surface. Because it doesn't have a driver, the expo organisers put the mascots in the seats at the front. It would have looked quite funny in motion with 50 people on board being driven around by two green blobs!


Back to the day we were on tv! This was a group of the mascots.... there were about 3 times as many as you see here!


Poor old spermy was down on his luck!
