I'm at uni in my lab! ha! I have a lab.... But the lamps I have got to adjust are too hot so I gotta wait for a while..... so whats been happening with you?? Did you watch the video about the space shuttle docking?? wow! It's such a surreal picture to see the earth flying by underneath while the shuttle does such a gentle spin above it..... did you know the shuttle and the space station are orbiting the earth once every 1 and a half hours?? well now you do. That's pretty quick! That's why some people are researching the possibility of commercial flights that would actually leave the 'aptmosphere' for the bulk of the flight..... could fly to London in like a few hours!
Of course, 'aptmosphere' is depends on how you define it considering that there are particles everywhere in space.... it is not actually a complete vacuum. I always thought it was close enough to a complete vacuum, but apparently not! I found out the other day that the space station has to fire it's boosters once a month or so to correct it's orbit which has decreased in height by as much as a couple of kilometres due to drag from solar winds and stuff!! wow!
what a nerd

that's interesting dave. ive also read that telstra has to fire a few hundred employees twice a year, because their profit gets dragged below the impoverished 4 billion dollar mark.... poor battlers!
Thats not close enough to a complete vacum!? It moves at an insane speed for an entire month and you complain.
As for the aircraft leaving the atmosphere America also once suggested it would produce a passenger aircraft capable of cruising at Mach 10.
